Volunteers Make A Difference in Ulster County
The Corporation
for National & Community Service (our federal funder) encourages participation
in community-wide service activities. One such activity is the USA Weekend’s
Make a Difference Day which is held each year on the fourth Saturday in
October. In support of Make a Difference Day RSVP of Ulster County will
participate in a number of outreach events:
Kick-off of the RSVP Pen Pal Program. Four fourth grade classrooms (80
students) from Chambers Elementary School and Rosendale Elementary School
will exchange letters with 80 senior RSVP volunteer program members. Letters
will be exchanged every other month throughout the school year. 
Sunday, October 5th, Make A Difference Day Exhibit Booth at the Saugerties
Cantine Field as part of the SAGE programs Community Day.
Tuesday, October 14th, 1pm Presentation BRC Learn how RSVP Volunteers
Make a Difference Serving at 65 Agencies in Ulster County every day.
Wednesday, October 22nd, RSVP Home Crafters Sale & Volunteer Recruitment
Booth at the Student Life Center of UCCC from 10am – 2pm. Meet a few of
our nimble fingered senior crafters and find out how you can make a difference
in your community.
Friday, October 24, 8:30-4, Holiday Inn Kingston, RSVP will participate
in the annual Human Services Networking Fair with an exhibit booth and
Program Presentation.
Tuesday, October 28th The New York State Senior Service Corp Directors
Association annual meeting in Syracuse NY 9am – 3pm
RSVP Volunteer Program and Business Resource Center will be a Personal
Care Item Drop-Off location for anyone who would like to help make a difference
in the lives of another by participating in the Ulster County Food Pantry
Consortium’s Make A Difference Day Project.
Monday,
November 3rd RSVP Community Crafters Sale and Volunteer Recruitment Booth
at the City of Kingston, Midtown Neighborhood Center with the RSVP Parks
and Recreation Department Senior Crafters.
Wednesday, November 5th, Neighbor to Neighbor volunteer training.
