April is National Volunteer Month

6th Annual VOLUNTEER AND COMMUNITY SHOWCASE

The 6th Annual Volunteer and Community Showcase will be held at the Hudson Valley Mall on Saturday, April 12, 2008 from 10am to 9pm. Please download and post this flyer in your showcare to help spread the word about the event. Flyer for Volunteer Day 2008

In attendance will be the volunteers and staff of approximately one hundred not-for-profit and volunteer organizations. They will be available to answer questions about their groups and the services they provide to individuals and the community as well as recruit volunteers to assist in their goals of making a difference in our community.

Similar in arrangement to the popular Kingston Lion's Club Expo, the expanded Volunteer and Community Showcase will highlight and recognize volunteerism at any age. The VCS allows visitors additional access to both information and the many volunteer opportunities available throughout Ulster County.

Current sponsors include Ulster Savings Bank, Ulster County Chamber of Commerce, SUNY Ulster and the Hudson Valley Mall, some of last year's participants included area emergency food suppliers, service organizations, senior residences and business counselors. Also represented were health, disability, literacy and housing, senior and youth advocacy groups.
