STEPS TO SOLVE A RADICAL EQUATIONS

  1. Isolate the radical expression to one side.

  2. Square both sides of the equation. This will eliminate the radical sign. However, this process may cause extraneous roots.
  3. Solve the resulting equation.
  4. Check all answers for extraneous roots.
